Letter to the Editor,

Recently the Lower Shore Chapter of the American Red Cross’s offices were broken into by someone using a cinderblock to smash in a glass panel on a new door and then using the same to break down an interior door to a supply area.  Our Chapter immediately called Gillis Gilkerson, Inc., who had done some renovation work at our chapter the year before.  They responded immediately and secured the building until they could order the proper replacement materials.  When all the repairs were made it looked better than ever, and then we were sent the bill: No Charge.  There are many kind and generous things that people and businesses do that go unnoticed with so much bad news on the media.  We at the Red Cross didn’t want this generous act by Gillis Gilkerson, Inc. to go that route.  And so we say to Palmer Gillis and his fine crew of workers, thank you for being such a good friend and supporter of the Lower Shore Red Cross.  Your kind act which sought no reward has at last seen the light of day.

Sincerely,
Alan Lee
Executive Director
Lower Shore Red Cross
